Driver taken into custody after fleeing scene of rollover crash

A driver was taken into custody after his SUV rolled over at West Mississippi Avenue and South Lipan Street on Monday, March 23, 2015.

DENVER – The driver of an SUV is custody after he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, just missing an apartment complex early Monday morning.

The Denver Police Department said the driver tried to run from the scene, but he was later caught and taken into custody.

The crash happened about 1 a.m. and caused a big mess at the intersection of West Mississippi Avenue and South Lipan Street.

Police are investigating what caused the car to roll over.
