DENVER — Doting over a dove. Loving a lorikeet or taking care of a cockatoo. Just a few of the duties for the new job opening the Denver Zoo wants to fill, “We are hiring a keeper and trainer for our Winging It program,” Emily Insalaco, Denver Zoo Curator of Animal Husbandry said.
The Winging It program is a brand new attraction and show at the bird division at the Denver Zoo. “This is a state of the art facility. It’s actually a breeding facility that’s not open to the public and that’s where some of our birds for the Winging It program are living right now,” Insalaco pointed out.
The Denver Zoo is looking for a very special person to join the team. “We want someone with experience. We want to make sure people are serious about this job and know what is involved in this job. We want someone who loves birds and wants to share that passion with our public. We want someone who is educated about it. We want someone who has actually studied it,” she said.
In other words, the perfect candidate must be a lover of all winged beasts.
The full time, paid position will be filled by February 2016 so if you’re interested, you better shake your tail feathers and contact the Denver Zoo.
