DENVER — Denver police shot and killed a suspect during an undercover drug buy Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at  South Platte River Drive and West Florida Avenue.

Denver Police Chief Robert White says an undercover drug buy took place at Overland Pond Park.

“When uniformed officers moved in to make an arrest, the suspect produced a handgun and threatened officers,” investigators say.

One of the uniformed officers shot the suspect. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
