DENVER — Mayor Michael Hancock’s son was in a car with another man who was shot in Fort Collins, the mayor’s office confirmed Monday.
Jordan Hancock, 19, was not hurt in the shooting on Eagle Drive in Fort Collins on Sept. 28.
He is not a suspect in the shooting in which Jalen Robinson, 19, as shot and seriously injured.
Amber Miller, a spokeswoman for the mayor’s office, said Jordan Hancock is cooperating with the police investigation.
According to Fort Collins Police, Eddie Johnson, 19, of Denver, is being held in connection with the shooting.
“Jordan is shaken by this incident, as any teenager would be. He provided a full statement to the FCPD,” according to a statement released by the mayor’s office. “He has headed back to school in Atlanta and will continue helping with the investigation as a witness to the event. The Hancock family is heartbroken by this terrible incident and hopes and prays Jalen Robinson will recover quickly and that the case comes to a swift resolution.”
