Denver group plants trees ahead of Earth Day

DENVER —More than 47,000 trees have been planted in Denver by Denver Digs Trees and now you can add hundreds more to the total.

“We continue to work with people to get the canopy over Denver even greener,” said Kin Yuan-Farrell, who heads up The Park People group. “Our goal is to put trees in neighborhoods where trees have been lost and where there are none these days.”

At the City Park Green House, hundreds came for tree pick-up on Saturday, which is so perfect in that Arbor and Earth Days both come next week. If you would like to take part in the program, look for applications in December which are due in by February, delivery come the 3rd Saturday in April.
