DENVER — Colorado soccer fans celebrated the U.S. women’s national soccer team’s 5-2 victory over Japan in the World Cup final.
A crowd of more than 200 people filled the popular soccer viewing bar British Bulldog on 20th and Stout streets on Sunday afternoon.
“People are ready for the United States to be great at soccer,” fan Jonathan Boraz said. “Everyone is behind the women and it’s really a great time to be a U.S. soccer fan.”

Some fans came two hours before kickoff to grab a coveted seat.
“I was here at 2:30, 2 1/2 hours before kickoff,” Duc Vu said. “There was nowhere to sit, so I’ve been standing in the same spot. Denver loves our soccer and this is fantastic.”
