DENVER — A cat, named Percy, was injured by a fan belt of a truck in February and was taken to the Dumb Friends League with injuries to his face and jaw.

The Dumb Friends League reported that Percy’s injuries were consistent with trauma caused by the fan belt where he was hiding to keep warm.

After he climbed under the hood of a car and that’s how he sustained the injuries.

He required intensive care in Dumb Friends League medical center and spent seven weeks in a foster home.

After surgery Percy was fitted with an external-fixation device to help stabilize the bones in his jaw while they healed.

Last week this device was removed and after a final exam, Percy will be cleared for adoption on Thursday.

Anyone interested in making Percy a part of their family is asked to come to the Dumb Friends League, Quebec Street Shelter.
