DENVER (KDVR) — Governor Jared Polis provided an update on the coronavirus in Colorado on Thursday. He said Colorado is the only state in the Mountain and Pacific time zones experiencing a steady decline in cases.

“It’s still going the right way in terms of new cases. Twelve of the last 14 days have a downward trend,” Polis said.

Gov. Polis commended Coloradans for continuing to be safe and prevent the spread by wearing masks and social distancing. He also reminded Colorado that we are on a decline in cases because of the public participation in reducing the spread.

“One thing’s for sure. If we go back to living the way we did in January and December when we took life for granted, the virus will have exponential growth,” Polis said.

He referenced the increased use of Telehealth services and announced a new central website to facilitate the use of Telehealth services to Coloradans.

The Columbine Health Care system, which had the first outbreak in a long-term care facility, has reported no longer having any COVID-19 cases, Polis mentioned.

Due to the decline of cases in Colorado, Gov. Polis announced reducing press conferences on updates to once a week.
