Denver to mandate COVID-19 vaccine for city employees, police, firefighters, teachers

DENVER (KDVR) — Mayor Michael Hancock and Executive Director of the Department of Public Health and Environment Bob McDonald provided an update Monday on Denver’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

You can watch a replay of the update in the FOX31 NOW player above.

Among the updates was an public health order requiring all city employees and people in some high-risk careers to be fully vaccinated by Sept. 30 or be banned from working onsite.

Some counties in Colorado announced new mask recommendations last week following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidance.

Based on the CDC’s guidance, two-thirds of Colorado’s counties should be under indoor mask mandates, including some counties in the Denver metro area.
