DENVER (KDVR) — School districts across the state are finalizing contingency plans for reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The spread of the virus and the perception of safety are the driving factors that will determine how schools move forward in August and September, according to experts.

This will be a running list of when schools will start. We will continue to update it as we learn more about back to school plans.

27J Schools
Start of School: September 1 for all in-person and online-only students
School orientations begin the week of August 18 and continue through August 28
Elementary: on campus learning
Middle School: on campus learning, exploratory classes online
High School: in-person instruction one day a week through an ABCD model and live sessions throughout the week remotely.

Academy District 20
Start of School: August 24
Likely the first several days of school will include a “soft” or “staggered” start bringing in small groups of students each day.

Adams 12 Five Star Schools
Start of School: August 27
Remote learning for all students through September 25 with periodic in-person meetings with teachers to supplement remote learning.

Adams 14
Start of School: August 24
Remote Learning for all students through October 7

Aurora Public Schools
Start of School: August 18 – Grades 1-12
August 24 – Preschool & Kindergarten
Remote learning through the first quarter which ends on October 8

Boulder Valley School District
Start of School: August 26
All-remote model until at least September 22

Cherry Creek School District
Start of School: August 17
PreK-5: In person learning
Middle and high school: Hybrid model or remote depending on family’s selection

Cheyenne Mountain District 12
Start of School:
August 24: In-person, small group orientation to new in-person learning protocols in grades K-6,
In-person, small group orientation to remote learning for junior high and high school
students, first day of in-person learning for 3-year old preschool classes.
August 26: First full-day of in-person learning for all students in grades K-6, first full-day of remote learning for all students in grades 7-12
September 10: First day of in-person/blended learning for grades 7-12

Colorado Springs School District 11
Start of School: August 24 for in-person and online learning

Denver Public Schools
Start of School: August 24
Full Remote Instruction through the First Quarter
100% remote learning through October 16

Delta County Schools
Start of School: August 17 (DCSD will continue to work in conjunction with the Delta County Health Department as we finalize our learning plans. DCSD hope to release our restart plan the first week of August)
DRAFT: Delta County School District is planning on students returning to school for 100% In-Person Learning, five days a week for K-12th grade students.

Douglas County School District
Start of School: August 17 (Orientation week)
Grades K-12: Hybrid model (2 cohorts, each in person 2 days/week) starting August 24
DCSD eLearning option offered at each school as alternative to in-person learning for families who prefer their student(s) continue learning remotely.
High school eLearners will begin Monday, Aug. 31.

Durango School District 9-R
Start of School: August 25 for all students PreK-12
All students have option for in-person learning 5 days a week or all remote or blended at the school they are enrolled.

Eagle County Schools
Start of School: August 25
Elementary/Middle: in-person instruction four days a week
High School: hybrid A/B model with in-person and remote learning

Falcon School District 49
Start of School: August 17
Mix of eLearning and in-person options
Final decision on the balance of in-person and eLearning to be published by August 10

Greeley-Evans School District 6
Start of School: August 17 – Grades 1-12
August 19 – Kindergarten
Elementary/K-8/Middle Schools: Phased return to school where one-third of students attend each of the first 3 days of school.Students who are learning in person will begin on August 17, 18 or 19. You will be notified.
High School: Hybrid schedule – One half of students will attend in-person classes 2 days a week and the other half will attend 2 different days/week. Remote learning when not on campus.
One day will be full remote learning for all students and teachers. 

Jeffco Public Schools
Start of School: August 24
Remote learning through September 4
September 8: PreK-5 begin in-person learning
September 8: Grades 6-12 begin in-person learning with hybrid model
Remote learning option will still be available.

Littleton Public Schools
Start of School: August 24
Additional information to be released in early August
In-person learning
LPS will also provide a fully online school program for K-12

Mapleton Public Schools
Start of School: August 27
In-person five-day a week instruction with the option for students to enroll in Mapleton Online, K-12 online school

Mesa County Valley School District 51
Start of School: August 17 – Grades 1-12
August 19 – Kindergarten
Students PreK-12 will return to in-person learning five days a week. 
Plan focuses on cohort methodology.

Poudre School District
Start of School: August 24
All students learning online until at least Oct. 16

Pueblo County School District 70
Start of School: August 24
Full remote learning for all grades
Transition to hybrid in-person learning model no sooner than September 21

Pueblo School District 60
Start of School: August 31 – Grades K-12
Pre-K: September 8
K-5: Full in-person learning 4 days a week or 100% online learning
Grades 6-12: Hybrid model with 2 days in-person learning and 2 days distance learning each week or 100% online learning
Pre-K: In-person learning 4 days a week (1/2 day or full-day program)

Roaring Fork Schools
Start of School: August 17
All Grades: Distance learning until at least September 21

Sheridan School District
Start of School: Monday, Aug. 17
Blended model – first day students will be in the building is Tuesday, Aug. 18

St. Vrain Valley Schools
Start of School: 
August 18 – Grades 1-12
August 20 – Kindergarten
100% online learning to start the year through at least the end of September

Thompson School District
Start of School: August 31 for in-person and online instruction 
Families have the option to select full in-person learning or full online learning

Weld RE-5J School District
Start of School: August 24
The Superintendent will update the School Board on the district’s plan for Returning to Instruction during the regularly scheduled board of education meeting on August 5th, 2020.  This meeting will be LiveStreamed and in-person. We can accommodate up to 25 people to attend in-person and this is on a first come/first serve basis. If you would like to share your comments with the school board, you can email them to listen@weldre5j.org or attend in person to share during the public comment period.

Weld RE-4 School District
Start of School: Week of August 17
Elementary: “soft start” with only half of student attending on either August 17 or 18 in their A/B groups
Middle/High School: Hybrid model – rotating in-person and off campus learning
Wednesday all students off-campus learning for deep cleaning
