BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — The Boulder Valley School District announced Monday that the mask requirement for school buses has been dropped.

The announcement was made following the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 community level.

BVSD said that masks will still be welcomed on school buses but not required.

“We will support the choice of our students, employees and families, whether they choose to wear a mask or not and will not tolerate bullying of any kind,” BVSD shared.

Gov. Jared Polis announced Friday that the state is shifting to an endemic response to COVID-19.
