PUEBLO, Colo. — The Colorado State Fair kicked off on Saturday with the traditional parade through downtown, this starts the 11-day festival with carnival rides, fair food, concerts and rodeo shows.

The State fair runs Aug. 28 – Sep. 7 and is open on Labor Day.

The classics and favorite attractions always make it back to fair each year, but there also some new gigs in town.

One of the new shows for entertainment is called “Wild About Monkeys,” where the hosts Kevin and Martina Keith train baboons to do a variety of tricks.  There is also a new ride on the carnival grounds for thrill lovers called “Sky Trip.”

Jerrod Niemann, Jake Owen and the Los Lonely Boys are just a few of the musical talents performing in the Southwest Motors Event Center.

Admission tickets onto the fairgrounds for adults over age 13 are $7 Monday – Thursday, and $10 on Friday – Sunday.

Kids ages 5 – 12 are  $7 every day and children ages 4 and under are free with an adult.
