DENVER (KDVR) — There are hundreds of unsolved homicide cases, long-term missing person cases, and unidentified remains cases in Colorado where at least three years have passed since the crime happened.

The Colorado cold case task force created a list of those cases dating back to 1970. The Problem Solvers are working to highlight cold cases in our state.

Who murdered Eric Hope?

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Denver Police Department are working to solve a cold case murder from 41 years ago.

Police said Eric Hope was found stabbed to death inside of his home near Congress Park and University Hospital on Oct. 23, 1981.

Investigators said the 12-year-old boy had a paper route and loved video games. He was in the seventh grade at the time of his murder.

“We went to junior high together. I will never forget,” a FOX31 viewer said.

To this day, Hope’s murder remains unsolved.
