DENVER — Starting Monday, there will be a new option to travel between some of Colorado’s biggest cities.
It’s called Bustang and it’s a swanky new bus service aimed at connecting major cities and employment centers in the state.
Commuters can travel to and from Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Glenwood Springs.
Busting is Colorado’s first state-owned and operated bus system. The sleek black-and-purple buses include charging stations, Wi-Fi, bathrooms, reclining seats and bike racks.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said the new service is part of its ongoing efforts to east congestion and connect major populations along the Interstate 25 Front Range and the Interstate 70 mountain corridors.
The bus service runs during peak commuter hours. A one-way ride to one of those major cities will cost between $9 and $28. The service only runs Monday through Friday but weekends are being considered.
CDOT said it’s about saving travelers money, time and reducing stress.
The first riders will board for their commute home at Union State at 3 p.m. Monday.
