DENVER — The Colorado Department of Transportation announced four major road construction projects it has planned for this summer.

The interchange at Interstate 25 and Arapahoe road will be rebuilt. The massive rerouting began Thursday morning and it will improve access to and from the highway. The project is expected to take about two years.

Work will begin in June on the expansion of the I-25 north express lanes in Adams County between 120th Avnue and E-470. The project is expected to take 18 months.

A project to add express lanes on C-470 between Interstate 25 and Wadsworth Boulevard will begin in August. That project will be finished in two years.

And new ramp control technology will be installed along northbound I-25 from RidgeGate Parkway to Broadway later this year for a six-month trial.

The technology will go into use in 2017 and is designed to reduce congestion at high traffic times along the highway.
