DENVER — The Colorado State Patrol gave the all clear at the State Capitol at about 7: 15 p.m. Tuesday after a bomb threat force an evacuation at the building. Nothing was found.
CSP said normal operations would resume as scheduled Wednesday morning.
A Denver police spokeswoman said there was also a threat that forced the evacuation of the Post Office at 900 20th St.
Staff at the Capitol said they evacuated the building after 4 p.m. The Colorado State Patrol, which handles security at the Capitol, was investigating the threat with the help of the Denver Police Department.
Legislators were conducting business in committee meetings at the time the fire alarms went off inside the building.
The U.S. Postal Inspector in Denver said her department as well as federal and local police were looking into the threat at the Post Office.
The evacuation at that building happened around 3:30 p.m. Pamela Durkee said they were aware of the threat at the Capitol and did not know if the two were related.
