BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A group of burglars break into a pawn shop in Broomfield Friday morning. The owner said they took four guns and he’s worried about what they may do with them.

The owner of Broomfield Pawn Kurt Wester watched surveillance video on Friday.

“You can see them coming from the front smashing each case,” said Wester.

Four brazen burglars wearing hoodies and masks used a crow bar to get into his business on 120th and Main Street just before 2 a.m. Friday morning.

“I know they were ready to do some damage,” said Wester.

The damage will cost the shop at least $20,000.

“It hurts because we work really hard here,” said Wester.

In just 57 seconds, the crooks made off with jewelry, a Samurai sword and four guns that employees wear for protection.

“The jewelry can be replaced, but we want these guns off the street and we want them back,” said Wester.

Burglars also tried unsuccessfully to break into the liquor store next door last Saturday morning. The store’s cameras caught three men using a rock to shatter the glass door.

“There was an attempted burglary at a business that was just a few doors down within the last week and we’re investigating if they would be related or not,” said Sgt. David Walts with Broomfield Police Department.

Wester wants his guns back and out of the hands of these criminals.

“This is detrimental to my business. I don’t want to be the one that’s says, ‘Hey this gun ended up doing this to this person.’ I don’t want that on my conscience.”

Wester was offering a reward for the return of his guns.
