DENVER — A large box truck became wedged on a barrier along I-225 early Friday morning, blocking two northbound lanes on the interstate.

Aurora Police confirmed their department received reports that the “Penske box-type truck” became stuck around 2:45 a.m.

As of 7 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation indicated the truck had been freed, and that the two right lanes of traffic that had been closed at East Alameda Avenue had been reopened.

That said, drivers were being advised to proceed with caution in the area.

Specifically, Aurora Police indicated the truck was stuck “between the jersey barrier and the bridge support” from the overpass at Alameda.

“Prior to coming to a stop the truck struck a light pole and a sign,” Aurora Police wrote.

Police went on to indicate that the driver of the vehicle was unharmed but has been taken into custody “on suspicion of DUI.”
