BOULDER, Colo. — The Boulder Peak Triathlon was canceled Saturday because of the Cold Springs Fire, the Boulder Peak Triathlon Team said.

The event, which was scheduled for Sunday, had to be canceled because all police, fire and EMS resources are being mobilized and reallocated across Nederland and Cold Springs in support of the wildfire, according to race officials.

As a result, the Boulder County Public Safety officials mandated that the event be canceled.

Race staff will be on site Sunday morning at the Boulder Reservoir from 6-10 a.m. to assist with the pick up of bikes currently racked in the transition area, as well as collect timing chips and straps.
