BOULDER, Colo. — As rescue operations continue throughout the region, a group of businesses are coming together to raise money for flood victims who lost everything when the rain began to fall.
The ‘Yes We Are Open and Ready to Help’ campaign was created by the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District to help companies support those affected by the raging flood waters.
Participating retailers and restaurants who display the ‘Yes We are Open’ signs in their front windows will donate 10 percent of their sales through Sunday to the Foothills Flood Relief Fund.
The money raised will then go to the United Way for distribution to non-profits that are assisting directly in affected areas of Boulder County.
Organizers say 35 downtown businesses have joined together to participate in the event.
As of Wednesday, all of downtown Boulder is open to the public.
In addition to the donation, Downtown Boulder, Inc. will match the total raised throughout the campaign up to $10,000.
