DENVER — A proposed law that would make schools in Colorado more accountable for safety of students cleared a state Senate committee Monday.
The bill removes schools from a governmental immunity act making them liable for negligence in dealing with dangerous students.
Michael and Desiree Davis testified in favor of the bill Monday.
Their daughter, Claire, was killed in the December 2013 shooting at Arapahoe High School in Littleton.
The said the Littleton Public School District has stonewalled them in their requests for answers about what the school knew about the shooter’s threats before he carried out his attack.
