Castle Rock police search for police impersonator who attacked woman

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — A woman driving to the grocery store in Castle Rock was pulled over and attacked Tuesday night around 7 p.m. Police say the suspect impersonated a police officer.

The attack happened in front of Meadow View Elementary, 3700 Butterfield Crossing Drive.

“Police came here and wanted information,” said Ryan McCrea. He owns a home nearby. “I didn’t see anything.”

Police say the suspect was driving a white Crown Victoria and had a flashing red and blue light.  The woman reported when the man pulled her over he tried to rape her.

The victim drove herself to Adventist Hospital where police took DNA evidence.

The man’s description is limited: A tall, white male, 6’3″ who wore sunglasses.
