AURORA, Colo. — Jennifer Seger, who was inside theater 9, the movie theater in Aurora where a gunman opened fire during the premiere of “The Dark Night Rises,” describes the suspected shooter pointing a gun in her face.
The shooting has a left 12 dead and over 38 wounded. That report is current as of 7:26 a.m., Friday morning.
“(The shooter) came in and I thought he was a prop. He threw a smoke grenade and I thought it was for pizzazz,” Seger said. “When he shot the ceiling, that’s when it was pandemonium. It was chaos. When he took the gun down from the ceiling, he had it in my face.
“He had the gun in my face. I was freaked out. I dove into the aisle and curled up in a ball.”
The suspected gunman, James Holmes, 24, of North Aurora, is in custody. He was reportedly found at the back of the theater with three weapons — a handgun, a shotgun and an assault rifle. He was wearing a riot helmet, a gas mask and a bulletproof vest and told police he was in possession of homemade explosives.
