AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — There are lots of questions after three women were shot in Aurora. Two of the women died, and a third was left severely injured.

To say the latest shooting in Aurora wreaked havoc is an understatement. The gunshots left the windows in Mauche Lee’s truck windows destroyed. A bullet then went flying through another.

“As hard as I work, to see something like this is really tragic, because it’s ridiculous,” Lee said.

The shooting happened in the parking lot at her apartment complex on East Mexico Avenue. The woman who died from her wounds has been identified as 24-year-old Onjahnique Williams.

Another woman was in shock after she found bullet holes in her apartment.

“When I came home, I turned around I just saw glass on the floor, and when I turned around, there was a bullet hole in the door,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified.

A bullet tore through her front door, a refrigerator and into a wall near where her children were sleeping.

Williams was the second woman to be murdered in Aurora in just two days. The two murders happened just 3 miles from each other, both in the wee hours of the morning.

The first shooting happened Tuesday at 5:10 a.m. at 11895 E. Archer Pl., with another woman seriously hurt in the shooting. The second happened Wednesday at 12:50 a.m. at 9796 E. Mexico Ave. Police say they have not found any evidence to show they are related.

Still, there is fear here as the murder rate in Aurora rises. Flying bullets are claiming lives, damaging property and striking fear in more neighborhoods.
