AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a light rail train and a pedestrian. The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at East 33rd Avenue and North Peoria Street, which is just southeast of the Peoria Station.
The male pedestrian involved was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, according to APD.
The train conductor is cooperating with the investigation, which is being conducted by APD’s Traffic Section.
The pedestrian’s identity has not yet been released.
RTD’s R Line light rail service was stopped at the Fitzsimmons Station. Passengers were transferred via bus between the Fitzsimmons and Peoria stations. Service has since resumed.
