DENVER — Mark you calendar for Friday and Saturday. An astronomy trifecta includes the full snow moon, a lunar eclipse and Comet 45P all visible in Colorado.
The big question is the weather. It’s not looking great. At best, there’s a 40 percent chance with a large storm system moving through Colorado.
The full snow moon is named after the heavy snows of February. It’s full on Friday at 5:34 p.m.
The lunar eclipse is visible at 5:43 p.m. in Denver on Friday.
Comet 45P travels into the inner solar system every 5.25 years. On Saturday, it will pass just 7.4 million miles from Earth. Look for it predawn in the eastern sky with binoculars or a small telescope. It might look like a green ball.
