As co-host of Great Day Colorado on Channel 2, Paula Haddock interviews and features a variety of local entrepreneurs, businesses, and charities. In Paula’s Picks she profiles awesome restaurants, artists, and boutiques.
Before launching Great Day Colorado’s predecessor Colorado’s Best in 2011, Paula spent 21 years as a news reporter/anchor in several markets, including Denver and Colorado Springs. As a consumer advocate, she helped recoup millions of dollars for Colorado consumers. She’s been recognized with numerous awards, and received a letter of thanks from the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Regulation for her investigative reporting that lead to the arrest and conviction of a fake attorney who scammed several local families out of their hard-earned money.
Helping and supporting breast cancer patients is very close to Paula’s heart. Her mother Naomi, her sister Lisa, and mother-in-law Mary Lee are all breast cancer survivors, as well as a number of close, personal friends. And now Paula is a breast cancer survivor herself! Diagnosed in November 2016, with stage one breast cancer, she had a lumpectomy the following month, and is taking part in the IORT clinical trial. IORT stands for Intra Operative Radiation Therapy, which gives the patient one big dose of radiation during surgery, preventing daily radiation treatments for 5-6 weeks. She feels very fortunate to have discovered the very small tumor early with an MRI, and she did not have to undergo chemotherapy. Paula is also a board member of www.senseofsecurity.org, which helps pay monthly bills of local breast cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Anyone who knows Paula, knows she’s a dog fanatic and she’s super passionate about the Broncos. Paula and her husband, Jim, have called Colorado “Home” since 1997. They live near downtown Denver with their two dachshunds, Red and Ana-Banana.
