Dave Fraser is the Chief Meteorologist and has been forecasting in Denver for more than 20 years. He has been recognized with numerous awards including Emmys, the Colorado Broadcasters Association and AP News for Best Weather.
Dave’s covered major weather events including the blizzards of 2003, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2021, the deadly Windsor and Holly tornadoes, the historic September floods of 2013 and many wildfires like the Hayman, Waldo Canyon and Black Forest.
You can watch Dave’s Certified Most Accurate Pinpoint Weather Forecast Monday through Friday on FOX31 Denver’s 4, 5, 9 and 10 p.m. You can also seem him at 7 p.m. on Colorado’s Own Channel 2.
Dave is a member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He is a fully certified meteorologist having earned the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) distinction from the AMS having met all specific educational and experience criteria. And, he also holds the Seal of Approval from the NWA.
Before coming to Denver, Dave worked as a meteorologist at WXIX-TV (FOX) & WLWT-TV ( NBC) in Cincinnati, OH, and network affiliates in Des Moines, IA, Sioux Falls, SD, and Austin, MN.
Dave enjoys visiting schools across the Front Range talking to Colorado students about his passion for meteorology and science.
Dave’s an avid sports fan and cheers for the Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche and Nuggets — although you may occasionally catch him rooting on the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics having grown up in Boston.
Dave and his wife Kathy have two sons, Derrick and Ethan.
