Ashley Ryan

Ashley Ryan is excited to wake up with Denver on FOX31 Morning News. Her 5-year-old son, Gray, is already loving the Mile High City and her family can’t wait to explore the Rocky Mountains.

She comes to Denver from Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she anchored the top-rated 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. newscasts. But she missed the 3 a.m. alarm clock (really!) and is eager to get back to the early morning schedule, filled with lots of coffee and laughs.

Ashley was just 8 years old when she dreamed of doing exactly what she does every day; telling stories that matter. Even after 12 years as a journalist, she says it still feels surreal. While working in Tulsa, she reported live at the State Capitol during the historic teacher walkout, covered former President Trump’s first campaign rally during the pandemic, investigated Oklahoma’s poor-ranking nursing homes, and contributed to the station’s Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.

Prior to Tulsa, Ashley anchored weekday mornings at WLTX in South Carolina where she covered the Charleston Church shooting, Confederate Flag controversy at the State Capitol, and the historic thousand-year flood. She’s also worked at WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee, ABC 57 News in South Bend, Indiana, and WBKB in Alpena, Michigan.

When she’s not working, she enjoys adventuring with her son, adopted dog, and her husband. They met when he was a firefighter in Indiana; she was reporting on a fire that his department responded to. Her husband spent the last three years working for the State Department at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and is now looking to get back into firefighting in Colorado.

Ashley has a passion for health and fitness, especially strength and kickboxing. While she loves lake life and water sports, she’s eager to go hiking, camping, and attempting snow sports in the mountains. She loves watching football, the live music scene, traveling, shopping local, and Sunday brunch. You can connect with her (and send brunch recommendations) on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. She also enjoys volunteering and has previously worked with the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and March of Dimes and is looking forward to connecting with nonprofits in the Denver area.
