DENVER — A man died after a stabbing at 7-Eleven on East Colfax Avenue Wednesday morning, according to the Denver Police Department.

Police say the stabbing happened around 7:40 a.m. at 7675 E. Colfax Ave.

The victim — a 43-year-old man — was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and later died, DPD said. His name has not yet been released.

Bereket Cholo, 35, was arrested about 9:40 a.m. in Aurora. He is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.

According to an arrest affidavit, Cholo is an employee at the 7-Eleven. The victim was the store’s owner.
