GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — A mudslide that closed a stretch of both lanes of Interstate 70 near Glenwood Springs Friday afternoon was cleaned up and the road reopened early just after 2 a.m. Saturday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Both the westbound and eastbound lanes were closed between mile marker 109 (Chacra) and mile marker 114 Friday afternoon.

Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews and other emergency response agencies worked to clear the mud and recover stuck cars.
