DENVER — Three pedestrians were struck by an SUV south of downtown Thursday night, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the incident happened about 9 p.m. west of West 10th Avenue and North Broadway.

The three pedestrians were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive. The names, ages and gender of the three were not released.

Police said the vehicle involved is a silver or gray SUV, and the driver fled the scene without stopping to help.

Police said it has recovered a vehicle and is conducting forensic tests to determine if it was involved in the crash. The driver of the vehicle is not in custody.

Police are asking anyone in the area who might have surveillance footage to contact them.
