PARKER, Colo. — A bear was spotted in Parker’s Stroh Ranch subdivision on Thursday, according to police.
The Parker Police Department posted a video of the bear hopping over a fence and going into someone’s yard.
The department says the bear was believed to be on the Cherry Creek Trail.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the bear was first seen about 11 a.m. near Legacy Point Elementary School in the Anthology neighborhood.
The agency said it contacted the Douglas County School District and escorted students from a neighborhood park safely back into the school.
During the next 90 minutes, the bear moved through backyards and along trails before reaching a gulch along the Cherry Creek Trail, CPW said.
Neighbors heard about the bear on social media and many were outside trying to catch a glimpse of it.
“We heard there’s a bear out here,” Laura Collins said as she and her daughter were driving around the subdivision. “We’ve never seen a bear here in Stroh Ranch. (We’re) big fans of Yellowstone, the Wildlife Sanctuary … so now it’s in our backyard.”
Cherry Creek runs on the western edge of the subdivision.
Neighbors are used to seeing a lot of wild animals, including deer, rabbits and coyotes. But many say they have never seen a bear in the area.
The bear was last seen about 1 p.m. CPW does not believe it is a threat.
Anyone who sees the bear is asked to call 303-841-9800. Do not approach the animal.
