THORNTON, Colo. — A woman last seen leaving a swimming pool in only a bikini and towel Saturday night was found Sunday morning, the Thornton Police Department said.

Officers responded to a city pool at 2141 E. 95th Ave. about 6:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a missing person.

When they arrived, family and friends of 37-year-old Olivia Martinez said she had left the pool area alone without a cellphone.

Martinez was last seen at 11 a.m. leaving the pool area to smoke a cigarette and listen to a band playing at a nearby gazebo.

Police initially said Martinez could have been missing under suspicious circumstances but later said she was found safe, and had left the pool with an acquaintance she met at the park.

She went back home Sunday morning.
