GREENLAND, Colo. — About 50 miles south of Denver is a community with a name that mirrors an icy country on a giant island: Greenland!
Greenland, Colorado has its own exit along I-25 (Exit 167). These days, the unincorporated community in Douglas County is more of a ‘pass through’ town. There are few buildings or signs a community even existed.
But according to History Colorado, at one point, Greenland was a bopping town! So much so, it had two grocery stores (including one with a slot machine) and three saloons.
It made us wonder: exactly how much does Greenland, Colorado differ from the territory of Greenland? Kevin Torres looked into it in this edition of ‘Unique 2 Colorado‘.
