Denver — For two nights at the Ogden Theatre Young the Giant played to a sold out crowd. Their simple set design felt right at home here in Colorado. It features mountains that change color and design to the beat of each song. Twinkling light stars glow above in the background. It looks like a drive to the Continental Divide in Rocky Mountain National Park.

In an orange jumpsuit from New Jasper Fire Department Sameer Gadhia took the stage. He bounces like a rubber ball that’s just been thrown at a wall. He moves fast, but his singing is clean, clear and good as a recording. “Cough Syrup” sounded great and the crowd really enjoyed singing the chorus, “life’s too short to even care at all oh oh oh.” Sameer gave the crowd a reminder, “we’re here, because of the importance of live music.” “Mind Over Matter” was also performed carefully and true to the album. He joked to the crowd, because they had two sold out nights, “If you have a plus one you can bring two dates.” He noted some of the same people he’d seen Tuesday are with new people on Wednesday. The show was fun, fast and energetic. They came back to the stage for a two song encore. Playing “Amerika” and the big hit “My Body” by the end of the performance everyone had their hands in the air swaying side to side. It was good fun and well played. Have a look at the pictures.
