DENVER — Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak says he plans to select the starting quarterback for the start of the regular season after Saturday’s preseason game.

Trevor Siemian will start Saturday, Kubiak said at a Monday news conference. The Broncos face the Rams at home for their third preseason game at 7 p.m.

One of the biggest questions in recent weeks has been if Siemian or Mark Sanchez will lead the offence when the Broncos open the regular season at home against the Carolina Panthers on September 8.

Both quarterbacks have started in the preseason, with rookie Paxton Lynch also getting time on the field.

Kubiak said he also expects DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib to play Saturday. Ware is expected to practice for the first time Tuesday.
