FLORENCE, Colo. — Robert Redford and Jane Fonda will be in Colorado next month to film a Netflix original movie.

The film, “Our Souls at Night,” will be shot in Florence and locals might get the chance to appear as extras.

Patrick Mignano, a location manager for Netflix, told the city council they’d like to shoot during the Pioneer Days parade on Sept. 17, the Cañon City Daily Record reported.

Mignano also said crews would like to shoot Redford and Fonda having a discussion on Main Street.

“There’s a coffee shop scene, a barber scene. And there’s a possibility we want to shoot in the bowling alley,” the Daily Record quoted Mignano as saying.

Redford and Fonda will star as a widow and widower who end up in a relationship that gets everyone in the small town gossiping.

Florence won’t get any name recognition out of the deal; the town will be called “Holt” in the movie.

The film is based on a book written by Colorado Native Kent Haruf. Amazon calls it “spare yet eloquent, bittersweet yet inspiring.”
