DENVER — Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run early Friday morning. Four people were hit while walking on the 3400 block of Walnut Street just before midnight when an older model Mustang-like vehicle hit them.

Two women and one man were transported to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The fourth person was treated at the scene.

“To me, it’s a shock,” Wendy Nesbitt said.

People who work close by said the neighborhood is typically quiet, but at night there are several clubs and bars on the street.

The Denver Police Department described the car as a 1990s model dark green Mustang or a car like it. The car has damage on the front right side, with possibly a broken windshield.

The driver sped off after hitting the group, police said.

“We’re asking for the community’s help in this to help identify to find this vehicle and the driver,” police spokesman Doug Schepman said.

“That is kind of scary. You don’t ever want to hear of something like that and to know the person that did it ran,” Nesbitt said.

Anyone with information should call Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
