DENVER — Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller returned to the Mile High City on Wednesday evening to deliver the gift of sight to some needy children.

For the past couple of years, Miller’s program, Von’s Vision, has provided hundreds of underprivileged kids with free eye exams and free glasses.

“All these kids need is a fair playing ground. All they need is glasses, contacts. Some kids don’t even know they can’t see. So that’s why we provide them free screenings as well,” Miller said.

Wednesday’s event at Sports Authority Field at Mile High delivered new glasses to 80 kids. According to Miller’s organization, 5,000 low-income first grade students enter the Denver Public Schools system without ever seeing an eye doctor.

For parents like Gloria Mendoza, Von’s Vision means an awful lot.

“It helps [my children] get new glasses because they’ve had their glasses for a while. And just a working mom, a single mom, you can’t afford to get new glasses,” she said.

Von’s Vision continues to grow each year.
