Max-GantnierPARKER, Colo. — Max Gantnier, one of three teenagers who fell through an icy pond in Parker on Jan. 14, died Monday afternoon, the Parker Police Department said.

The Legend High School student had been at Children’s Hospital for the past 11 days.

Gantnier and two of his friends fell through the ice. Patric Lantz, 16, died at a hospital shortly after rescuers pulled him out of the water of the pond in the Hidden River neighborhood near Meadowood Lane and Tallman Drive. He was underwater for 35 minutes before he was rescued.

The third teen, Cole Robinson, was able to make it out of the pond with the help of first responders. He was released from the hospital

Lantz will be buried at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, nearly two weeks since rescue teams frantically went into the frigid water looking for the teens.
