LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. – An inmate at the Larimer County Jail reportedly assaulted a corrections deputy on Friday.

The inmate was 33-year-old Justin Charles Donaghho, according to Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

Donaghho reportedly got out of his bunk and walked toward the door of his housing unit when a corrections deputy asked the inmate to return to his bunk, but he didn’t comply.

According to reports, a deputy used his extended arm to prevent Donaghho from reaching the door, then the deputy alleges Donaghho violently attacked him, striking him multiple times in the head.

The deputy used a Taser to try and gain control over Donaghho, but it was not effective, according to the sheriff’s office.

Donaghho continued to attack the deputy until he was able to take the inmate to the ground and call for help.

Additional deputies arrived and after several attempts, deputies were eventually able regain control and place the inmate in restraints.

Donaghho was treated by jail medical staff for minor lacerations and abrasions, deputies said.

The corrections deputy who was assaulted, was treated at a local hospital for a concussion.
