LONGMONT, Colo. — A man arrested months ago for allegedly stabbing a man in Longmont because of a Facebook dispute pleaded not guilty Friday.

David Dominguez, 30, was charged with first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery, first- and second-degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief. He pleaded not guilty in a Boulder District Court hearing on Sept. 25.

Dominguez and the other man involved, 29-year-old Mitchell Mailand, allegedly drove to Longmont from Denver in March so Mailand could confront a man after they had a fight on Facebook.

The men reportedly pulled the victim out of his house and Dominguez stabbed him with what witnesses said was a smashed cellphone used as a shank, officials said.

The victim survived but officials said he suffered multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Longmont United Hospital where he underwent surgery for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Both suspects were arrested a few days after the March incident.

Mailand pleaded guilty in July to felony menacing and assault charges.  He has served 151 days and received three years probation.

Dominguez’s trial was scheduled for early 2016. He remains in custody in the Boulder County Jail.
