BOULDER, Colo. — The Boulder Police Department is looking for a suspect wanted in connection with about 20 home burglaries during the past several months.

Police said Wednesday the victims described similar circumstances and gave suspect descriptions, enough for two sketches of the suspect to be released.

“These burglaries are particularly concerning because the suspect targets homes when the residents are present and often times awake,” police said in a news release.

The burglaries have happened west of Broadway and police said the similarities include:

*Jewelry and cash are taken with a pillowcase sometimes used.

*Screens on open windows are cut to allow the suspect to enter the homes. Ladders have been found at homes to allow the suspect to climb onto roofs and balconies.

*The suspect leaps off houses to escape when confronted by residents.

*Most of the burglaries have happened between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., though a few have occurred earlier.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He has dark hair and could be unshaven. He might be driving a beige or tan older model SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Kara Wills at 303-441-3482 or the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
