DENVER — A new center opened in Denver Friday that has a mission to fight homelessness among military veterans.
Governor John Hickenlooper joined folks from the Daniels Fund and Volunteers of America to celebrate the event.
“We applaud organizations like Volunteers of America, the Daniels Fund, and the others who supported this project for their work to ignite change in the community. More of our Veteran neighbors will receive the help and support they need thanks to the Bill Daniels Veteran Services Center,” said Hickenlooper.
The Bill Daniels Veteran Services Center will function as a central location for veterans and their families. It will house Volunteers of America programs designed specifically to help homeless veterans.
It’s also home to up to 20 other organizations that serve our vets.
It’s located at 1247 Santa Fe Drive. the $2.1 million renovation of the facility was finished July 1.
