CENTENNIAL, Colo.  — Two survivors of the Aurora theater shooting shared their feelings immediately after the jury’s verdict was announced on Friday.

Eugene and Kirstin Han were both injured in the theater shooting three years ago.  They got married on July 20, 2013, the one-year anniversary of the shooting.

James Holmes was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, on Aug. 7, 2015, after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.

The following videos below show how they reacted to the news of the gunman’s life sentence.

This couple just celebrated another anniversary together, where they told us that “they forgive the shooter.”

That trial took place over three months and the jury reached a verdict in just 6.5 hours.

Previously the gunman was found guilty of murdering 12 people and injuring 70 others at the midnight premiere of the “Dark Knight Rises” on July 20, 2012.
