DENVER — They are priceless photos capturing fleeting moments in time — and a Denver family thought they’d never see them. They were wrong.
First-time mom Ryan Howard reached out last week when she couldn’t get a hold of a professional photographer who had taken pictures of her newborn, Declan.
We reported on the complaints of several moms about A MoMent Photography by Amy Barlow.
Now, Barlow is responding directly to Howard through email. Howard held a sleeping Declan in her rocking chair at her apartment when we spent some time with them Tuesday.
She treasures the quiet time because she realizes how quickly children grow up. But now she has a tangible reminder. She finally received a gallery of photos from A MoMent Photography.
They are precious photos of Declan at just 13 days old — photos she told us last week she feared she’d never see.
“The phone has been completely off. I can leave messages, which I have multiple times. I emailed her, messaged her on Facebook and nothing,” she said last week.
We went by Barlow’s office and got no answer. Then, Barlow deleted her Facebook page.
“I am very surprised and grateful she stepped up and did what she needed to do and did the right thing,” Howard said.
But she said she probably needed a little public prompting.
“Without the help of FOX 31, I think we’d still be in the same situation of never hearing from her and never getting our pictures,” she said.
Now she won’t have to rely on her memory that can fade with time.
“Seeing him from then and now is hard to believe. That’s why we wanted them. Why we did newborn shots is to cherish and freeze that moment,” she said.
