IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man who fell out of a raft in Clear Creek died Saturday, according to Idaho Springs police.
Police responded to a 911 call at 12:10 p.m. about a someone receiving CPR after a rafting accident in Clear Creek in the area of I-70 at mile marker 242, in the city of Idaho Springs.
The Idaho Springs Police Department, the Clear Creek Sheriffs Department, Clear Creek EMS and Fire responded, with the first units arriving on scene within about 1 minute.
EMS personnel began resuscitation efforts on scene but were not successful.
The 35 year old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Idaho Springs Police say the initial investigation reveals that an adult male was in a group on the raft. As the raft passed through an area known as “Dizzy Lizzy”, the male fell backwards out of the raft.
The male was pulled out of the water a short distance later, not breathing, according to Idaho Springs Police.
The incident remains under investigation.
