BOULDER, Colo. — An interfaith vigil at Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder Tuesday night honored the nine lives lost in Charleston. More than 100 in attendance hope to put an end to hate crimes.

Nonprofit group Showing Up for Racial Justice hosted the vigil. The group’s mission is to connect people through passion and accountability.

“It’s a chance for us to begin a dialogue about the ways white people can work toward racial justice and start to look at some of the ways we participate in the fight against racism,” said Showing Up for Racial Justice spokeswoman Marissa Tafura. “It’s also an opportunity for us to process some of the grief and pain that all people are feeling.”

Showing Up For Racial Justice has offices across the country including in Boulder.
