WIGGINS, Colo. — A male suspect was taken into custody after police engaged in a high speed pursuit on Highway 34 Saturday evening.
It happened around 5 p.m. when an officer in Wiggins tried to make a traffic stop inside city limits for an erratic driver. That’s when the suspect took off, Wiggins police say.
The pursuit westbound on Highway 34 reached speeds over 100 miles per hour, ending with the suspect crashing between Kersey and Greeley.
The suspect suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody, Wiggins police say.
The suspect had some active warrants, but police are not releasing what types of warrants those were at this time.
Wiggins Police was the lead in the chase, assisted by the Colorado State Patrol, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Weld County Sheriff’s Office and Kersey Police.
